Guests from Nottingham Meet with Teachers and Students from the Faculty of Philology

image 2On September 17, 2019, at the invitation of Lev Pisarev, Head of the Department of Germanic Languages, the Faculty of Philology of Saint Tikhon's Orthodox University of the Humanities (STOUH) was visited by Dr. Monica White, Associate Professor in Russian and Slavonic Studies at the University of Nottingham (UK) and Sarah Wilson, Manager of Student Services at the Department of Modern Languages and Cultures.

The guests from the UK held a meeting in English with students and teachers from the Faculty of Philology, during which students from the Department of Germanic languages actively asked questions that raised a great deal of interest not only from the guests, but from the entire audience. The spectrum of questions asked was very broad: from the upcoming Brexit in the UK to the particularities of English cuisine.

Dr. Monica White and Miss Sarah Wilson told students and teachers about various aspects of life at the University of Nottingham and were glad to answer all the questions they were asked.

After the meeting, the visitors from Nottingham met with department administrators to discuss current issues relating to the student exchange between STOUH and the University of Nottingham.

The discussion was attended by Snezhana Fomenko, Deputy Head of STOUH's International Office.
